At Credit Union of New Jersey, we are committed to building a strong foundation for the future of our Board leadership. Our Associate Director Program is designed to identify, engage, and develop the next generation of Board Directors who are passionate about our mission and the credit union movement.
This unique opportunity allows selected individuals to serve a one-year, non-voting term on our Board of Directors. During this time, Associate Directors will observe Board meetings, learn about governance and strategic oversight, and gain valuable insight into the leadership and responsibilities of serving as a full Board member.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered for the program, applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Be a Credit Union of New Jersey member in good standing
- Be passionate about the credit union
- Be willing to volunteer your time as this is non-compensated position
- Be willing to commit the necessary time to actively participate in Board meetings and related activities
- Be willing to invest the requisite time in director education, including understanding the financial aspects of credit union operations, risk and compliance, and the principles of excellence in governance through the Carver model of Policy Governance
